Awareness talks programme on Libary, Archives and Museum begins in Hojai

Imphal, February 21 2026:
A two-day awareness talks programme on Library, Archives and Museum commenced today at Geeta Mandir, Natun Bazar, Hojai district in Assam, organised by the Manipur State Kala Akademi.
The inaugural function was presided over by Dr Phuritsabam Biramani, president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Assam, said Manipur State Kala Akademi in a press release.
During the programme, resource person Dr Thounaojam Khomdon Singh delivered a talk on the topic "Library at the Crossroad".
Naoroibam Indrumani spoke on ways to preserve ancient books and manuscripts, stressing the need for proper conservation techniques to safeguard valuable literary resources for future generations, while Dr K Sushila Devi presented a talk on the books and manuscripts that were preserved by forefathers and found documented in several papers.
On the second day of the programme, to be held on Sunday, Laishom Gulap, president of the Manipuri Short Story Society of India, will preside over the function.
Resource persons, Laimayum Sabita Devi, Dr Keisham Sobita Devi are scheduled to deliver talks on various topics.
