Imphal, December 20 2025: The Government has given its nod to appoint a separate Commandant General for Home Guard, said Manipur Home Guard Employees Welfare Association president Yanglem Mangi Singh today.

He said this speaking to reporters at the association's office at Luwangsangbam, Imphal East.

Mangi said the home guard employees have been demanding the Government to appoint a separate Commandant General since the last couple of years with a case filed in the Court in January 2024 .

While lauding the Government for addressing the demand, he urged it to further meet the associations pending demands.

The association has been urging the Government to increase dearness allowance, ration money and streamline promotion guidelines.
