Pensioners demand release of pending IDA, DR orders

Imphal, May 20 2026: Joining the nationwide protest called by the Committee of BSNL/MTNL Pensioners' Associations (CBMPA), BSNL and MTNL pensioners staged a sit-in protest at B SNL Telephone Bhawan, Babupara, Imphal on Wednesday.

The protest was organised by the All India BSNL DoT Pensioners' Association, Manipur District, demanding immediate release of pending Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) and Dearness Relief (DR) orders for pensioners.

Similar dharnas were held across other States in front of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Controller of Communication Accounts (CCA), and BSNL/MTNL offices.

Pensioners said the delay in IDA and DR revision has caused financial hardship and urged the authorities to issue the orders without further delay.
