86 Bn CRPF distributes solar street lights at Khumjit Pt-III

Imphal, December 18 2025: Under the aegis of the IG M&N Sector, the 86 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) conducted a Civic Action Programme (CAP)atKhumji-Pt III village under Noney Police Station, Noney district, on Thursday.

As part of the programme, solar street lights were distributed to the villagers with the aim of improving basic amenities and enhancing the quality of life in the area.

The event was graced by the presence of chief guest K James Rongmei, Assistant Commandant, 86 Bn CRPF.

Other dignitaries present included SM Hussain, SDPO Nungba (presently holding the charge of SP Noney), Inoka K Jimomi, Assistant Commandant, OC A/86 Bn; O Sunil Kumar Singh, Assistant Commandant, OC B/86 Bn; along with Athaipou, chairman of Khumji Area village council, and SK Agong, chairman of Khumji Pt-III village.

Representatives of civil society organisations, village elders and local residents also attended the programme.

Addressing the gathering, K James Rongmei, Assistant Commandant, expressed gratitude to the villagers for their cooperation and stated that the distribution of solar street lights would help meet the needs of the village, improve safety and living conditions, and further reinforce harmonious relations between the CRPF and the local population.

The village chairman and residents appreciated the noble initiative undertaken by the 86 Bn CRPF and conveyed their heartfelt gratitude, expressing hope that similar welfare-oriented activities would continue in the future.
