School observes 'Great June Uprising Day'

Thoubal, June 18 2025: Sofia English School, Thoubal, observed the Great June Uprising Day-2025 at its school complex in Thoubal Wangmataba on Wednesday.

The event was co-hosted by Group-7, 4th Semester (2023-25), and Group-1, 2nd Semester (2024-26), of the Institute of Rural Education (IRE) College of Teacher Education, Wangjing, as part of a school exposure programme.

During the observance, a painting and essay competition was also organised.

Sofia English School headmaster AK Jugeswor, assistant headmaster Okram Udoi, and IRE faculty member Ajitkumar Maibam attended the function as presidium members.

The programme included offering of floral tributes to the portraits of the 18 martyrs of the Great June Uprising and observance of a two-minute silence in their honour.
