CRPF strengthens community bonds through Civic Action Programmes

The Central Reserve Police Force's Civic Action Programmes continue to foster stronger community-security force relations by bridging the gap between local populations and security personnel through welfare activities and development support.
As part of the Civic Action Programme, the 86 Battalion CRPF under the aegis of IG M&N Sector CRPF successfully conducted a 15-Day Tailoring Training Programme at Tarung village in Imphal West district.
The Tailoring Training Programme, which ran from December 3 to 17, witnessed the enthusiastic participation of women from Tarung village.
The closing ceremony held on Wednesday was graced by dignitaires, including H Premjit Singh, DIGP Range Imphal CRPF; Saurabh Kumar Choudhary, Commandant, 86 Bn CRPF; Ravindra Kumar, Second in Command; W Nandini Devi, Second-in-Command; and Kiyam Rajiv Singh, Deputy Commandant of 86 Bn CRPF .
Kamei Aguichung, chairman of Tarung Village Authority; Keising Kamei, village administrative chief; Poulem Panmei, traditional chief; representatives from women's society, CSOs, village elders, and residents of Tarung village also participated in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, H Premjit Singh, expressed his gratitude to the villagers and highlighted that the Tailoring Training Programme was conducted with the aim to enhance tailoring skills among the women of Tarung village, enabling them to improve livelihood opportunities and contribute to economic empowerment.
"The CRPF has consistently stood as a pillar of stability and security, striving to strengthen trust, understanding and mutual respect with every community in the region, supporting local needs and fostering goodwill between the CRPF and the local population", he added.
The DIGP also distributed sewing machines to the villagers of Tarung.
Similarly, the 152 Battalion CRPF under the aegis of IG M&N Sector CRPF organised a Civic Action Programme at the Relief Camp, Thau Ground, Imphal on Wednesday.
As part of the programme, two toilets and one bathroom were renovated to address the sanitation needs of the internally displaced persons staying in the relief camp.
The event was graced by H Premjit Meitei, DIGP Range Imphal, CRPF as the chief guest.
The programme was also attended by Rakesh Ranjan Tiwari, Second in Command, 152 Bn CRPF; Dr Rahul Kumar, MO-152 Bn; Th Mema Devi, Assistant Commandant; and Kh Momon Singh, president, Thangmeiband Athletic Union (Thau), along with large number of locals and IDPs .
Moreover, as part of the Civic Action Programme, the 189 Battalion CRPF on Wednesday distributed sewing machines and weaving looms to the Langol Women Development Association and Langol Youth Development Club (LYDC) .
The programme held at Meitei Langol Seva Marup Mandap Group in Langol was graced by dignitaries, including Yumnam Joykumar Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister; N Kunjarani Devi, Commandant, Group Centre CRPF, Langjing; Laishram Sarita Devi, Superintendent of Police (Sport), Manipur Police Department; and Prashant Kumar Sahu, Commandant, 189 Battalion CRPF .
Officials, jawans of CPPF and locals of Langol area actively participated in the event.
Cultural programmes and a dog show were the other highlights of the event.
