Iboton Sharma elected president of WMC Assam unit

A general body meeting of the World Meetei Council Assam State Unit was held on Sunday at Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir in Bakrapara, Assam.
The meeting was presided over by retired Colonel BK Singha.
Among those present were Sachindra Singha, president of Sri Sri Radha Govinda Mandir; L Champa Devi, president of Kamrup Meira Paibi; Thambal Singha, president of GMSO; Helensana Devi, president of Sahitya Parishad, Kamrup district; retired Colonel Tejamani Singh; Yumnam Nabakishore, national spokesperson of WMC; Baldev Singha, working president of UMAA; and Y Upendra Singha, president of MPF.
During the meeting, Iboton Sharma was elected as the new president of the WMC Assam State Unit, succeeding former president Nabakishore Yumnam.
Speaking after his election, Iboton Sharma assured that he would work to the best of his abilities for the welfare and development of the Meetei community in Assam.
He also pledged to strengthen and promote the activities of the World Meetei Council and sought continued support and cooperation from the people.
