MLA T Robindro inspects storm-hit areas in Thanga AC, distributes relief

Thanga Assembly Constituency MLA Tongbram Robindro on Monday visited storm-affected areas under Thanga AC following the heavy storm accompanied by hailstones that swept across the State on the midnight of March 14 .
During the visit, he distributed tin sheets and monetary assistance of Rs 10,000 each to affected families as an immediate relief measure.
The MLA inspected the affected localities of Keibul, Keirenphabi, Thanga Ngaram, Ithing Khola, Thanga Chinglak and Thanga Oinam, where he assessed the damage caused by the storm and extended immediate support to the victims.
The visit was accompanied by SDC Moirang, O Boinao, along with officials from the District Administration and members from the MLA Office.
As part of the relief measures, the MLA distributed three bundles of tin sheets and monetary assistance of Rs 10,000 each to the affected families to help them cope with the immediate difficulties caused by the disaster.
Speaking in connection with the visit, MLA Tongbram Robindro described the calamity as unfortunate and said that around 20 households in his Assembly Constituency were affected by the storm, of which houses of 13 families were completely uprooted.
He said the assistance provided was meant to offer immediate relief to the families who are currently facing difficulties in arranging shelter and food.
The MLA further informed that the State Government will provide financial assistance of Rs 1.20 lakh to households whose houses have been completely damaged.
However, as the official process may take some time, he extended immediate assistance from his side to help alleviate the hardships faced by the affected families.
