DMCC to protest at Jantar Mantar on July 28

Taking serious note of the over 14 months long ethnic conflict in Manipur, Delhi Meitei Co-ordinating Committee (DMCC) is all set to organise a protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on July 28 .
Announcing this during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club, here, on Saturday, DMCC Women Wing publicity secretary Naorem Lili stated that the protest would be staged from 1 pm to 3 pm at Jantar Mantar and it would be participated by Manipuri diaspora from various parts of the country and the world.
She appealed to various CSOs and women groups of various communities of the state to join the protest and unitedly chant slogan of 'No disintegration of our motherland'.
Lili further informed that the protest has been arranged to press the central government to stop extending support to Kuki militants and narco-terrorists, take up measures for resolving the present crisis which has been neglected by the centre for more than one year now, remove at the earliest the borderlines set up by central forces which has divided the once united Manipur, rehabilitate the internally displaced people to their original homes and stop attacks on valley villages by Kuki militants from bunkers constructed on hilltops along with dismantling of these bunkers.
On the other hand, DMCC Youth Wing in-charge Ningthem Khuman requested for holding of similar protest in Manipur by all communities of the state on the same day.
The attack by Kuki narco-terrorists since May 3 on Meeteis can also happen to any community of the state, the issue is not only of Meetei but all of Manipur, he emphasised, while appealing to public to join the protest in the state to be organised by meira paibi activists.
