Thoubal, September 11 2025: The Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Zone in Thoubal, in collaboration with District Administration .Thoubal, Department of Education (S)/Samagra Shiksha Manipur, and the Divisional forest Office, Thoubal, organised a tree plantation drive along the inter-village road stretch connecting Thoubal Athokpam Makha Leikai and Thoudam Leishangthem Khong Manung.

The drive was held as part of the campaign "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam/Plant for Mother-2.0" in the presence of MLA Thoubal AC, O Surjakumar Singh.

Speaking in this connection, ZEO Zone III Thoubal, who also serves as District Project Office of Samagra Shiksha stated that the initiative aimed to restore the degraded ecological balance through collective participation.

He highlighted that the saplings, planted in Miyawaki style, would help develop a micro-forest along the stretch.

He also extended gratitude to clubs, organisations, teachers, and students for their active support and contribution.

Teachers and students from Thoudam Leishangthem High School, TMK English School and LM High School enthusiastically took part in the plantation drive, making the event a grand success.
