Imphal, May 10 2025:
While condemning the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, Khundrakpam MLA Th Lokeswar has expressed wonder as to why the Centre did not consider the abduction and brutal killing of six women and children in Manipur as a terrorist act.
The Centre took immediate action after terrorists killed tourists in Pahalgam but never considered the abduction and killing of six women and children in Jiribam as a terrorist act, Lokeswar said, expressing his displeasure over the Centre's lack of seriousness on the more than two years long crisis in Manipur.
Lokeswar inaugurated the newly constructedlma Ibema Yumjao Lairembi Shanglen at Sagolband Heinoupok Road in Patsoi Assembly Constituency on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering at the event, Lokeswar said that the state remains under President's Rule after BJP's 44 MLAs failed to form a government.
The cowardice of BJP MLAs has not only increased the suffering of the people but also put the state in an unpredictable situation, he alleged, and called on BJP MLAs to resign if they are unfit to be people's representatives.
The new Ima Ibema Yumjao Lairembi Shanglen was constructed by former Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai.
She, along with former Khangabok MLA O Landhoni, also attended the event.
In her speech, Ak Mirabai said that people have reaped benefits from water supply schemes implemented in many places in Patsoi AC during her tenure, though some schemes remain incomplete.
While promising to mount pressure on the relevant officials for early completion of the remaining schemes, Mirabai alleged that the incumbent Patsoi MLA has remained silent to the suffering of the people for the past three years.
