Assam Rifles conducts Yoga session in Kovang village

In a continuing effort to promote health and community wellness, Assam Rifles organized a yoga session today at the remote border village of Kovang, Chandel District.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the event was conducted as part of the broader campaign leading up to the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY), aligning with the national 100-day countdown currently underway across the country.
The session focused on the practical application of yoga to enhance the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of the local populace.
A total of 23 participants, including women and children, engaged in various yoga postures and breathing techniques under the guidance of a trained Assam Rifles instructor.
The initiative aimed to foster a healthy lifestyle and promote resilience among residents in geographically isolated areas.
By practicing together, the session not only highlighted the psychological benefits of yoga and stress management but also served to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and shared purpose between the security forces and the villagers.
The local community expressed their appreciation for the outreach, noting the importance of such sessions in maintaining fitness and harmony.
