MLS celebrates Foundation Day

Imphal, December 08 2025: Manipuri Literary Society (MLS) celebrated its 41st Foundation Day at Rupmahal Theatre, BT Road, Imphal on Monday.

The celebration was graced by Prof Paonam Gunindro Singh, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University of Culture; Prof Sagolsem Lanchenba Meetei, Dean, School of Humanities, Dhanamanjuri University and Principal, DM College of Arts; and Naorem Lokeshwore Singh, president, MLS as presidium members.

As part of the celebration, MLS presented awards to 10 achievers in recognition of their contributions to Manipuri literature.

The recipients are - Dr Nongmaithem Pramodini (prose), Devdas Mairembam (poem), Moirangthem Priyobrata (novel), Wahengbam Romen (short story), Konthoujam Jitendra (translated book), Salam Rupachandra (travel story), Rahul Hidang, Akendra Tensuba, Manaobi MM and Dr Laishram Sashikumar (Lifetime Achievement in Manipuri Literature) .
