International Literacy Day celebrated

Imphal, September 08 2025: The Statelevel celebration of International Literacy Day was held today at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul.

The celebration was organised by the State Literacy Mission Authority, Department of Adult Education, Government of Manipur.

Notable dignitaries who graced the event include N Bandana Devi, Secretary, Skill, Labour, Employment & Entrepreneurship (SLEE) and State Mission Director, Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission as the chief guest; Anjali Chongtham, Joint Secretary, State Literacy Mission Authority, Manipur as the functional president and K Jadumani Singh, ADM Imphal West and Chairman, District Literacy Mission Authority, Imphal West as the guest of honour.

At the event, prizes were distributed to the winners of the painting competition held yesterday.

Additionally, certificates were handed over to the "Best Volunteer Teachers" of Bishnupur, Chandel, Tamenglong, Thoubal and Senapati district.
