SoO groups, MHA hold talks in Delhi

In a significant development towards resolving longstanding issues in Manipur, a meeting was held on August 5 between representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), and suspension of operation (SoO) agreement signatories namely United People's Front (UPF), and Kuki National Organisation (KNO) in New Delhi, The meeting centred on extension of the SoO agreement and pursuit for lasting political solution, figured discussions on revision of SoO ground rules, consolidation and relocation of designated camps, and other logistical aspects critical to the peace process.
According to a joint press communique signed by spokespersons Aaron Kipgen (UPF) and Seilen Haokip (KNO), leadership of both UPF and KNO termed the meeting 'constructive and forward-moving', expressing satisfaction over the outcome.
According to the spokespersons, all major issues were deliberated thoroughly, culminating in a mutual agreement on the key points.
The parties expressed optimism for an early signing of a comprehensive agreement, signalling renewed hope for peace and stability in the region.
The meeting marks a crucial moment in the ongoing tripartite dialogue process and comes amid heightened anticipation among communities in the hill districts of Manipur.
