3 UG cadres netted; arms, ammos recovered

Security forces arrested three cadres of proscribed organisations and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in separate operations on Saturday and Sunday, according to a statement from the police control room.
On Sunday, a combined team recovered a large cache of arms and explosives from Samuchep Lok/Nala area bordering Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts under Loktak police station in Bishnupur district.
The recovered items include two SLRs with two magazines, one SBBL gun, two improvised mortars, four No 36 HE hand grenades, two 9 mm local-made pistols with magazines, five rounds of 7.62 mm SLR, one .303 round, and 30 cartridges of 12 Bore.
Additionally, 31 casings of 7.62 mm SLR, six of .303, 22 of 5.56 mm INSAS, and seven of 12 Bore rifle, four local-made explosive shells, two local-made mortar shells, one tear smoke shell (normal), one tear smoke grenade, one stunt shell (normal), two BP helmets and one broken mobile phone were also recovered.
On the same day, two cadres of the proscribed KCP (PWG) and SOREPA were arrested from Mayang Imphal Heigum Yangbi in Imphal West district.
The arrested persons have been identified as Longjam Bishochandra Meitei alias Bungo (37) of KCP (PWG) and Chirom Roshan Meitei alias Thomas (37) of SOREPA.
Two mobile phones were seized from their possession.
Earlier on Saturday, security personnel apprehended cadre of an armed outfit from Yairipok Laimanai area under Andro PS in Imphal East district.
The individual, identified as Lairenlakpam Dineshchandra Singh (30) of Thoubal Wangkhem Mamang Leikai, was reportedly involved in extortion activities.
A 9 mm pistol with a magazine, five rounds, a mobile phone, wallet, PAN card, driving license, Aad-haar card, ATM card, and a voter ID card were recovered from him.
