SHRI celebrates 40th foundation day

Imphal, July 03 2025: Health Services director Dr Chambo Gonmei has stated that it is an important responsibility on the part of doctors and nurses to ensure that their patients are satisfied with the care.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the celebration of the 40th foundation fay of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) at auditorium of Shija Academy of Health Sciences, Langol on Thursday.

Dr Chambo lauded Shija Hospital chairman cum managing director Dr Kh Palin in establishing and leading the hospital till date.

He then advised the medical and nursing students not to forget that medical science is a noble profession and not to be swayed by money in their service to the people.

He continued that those in medical profession should respect the elderly and care for the patients sincerely to help them in their recovery.

Presiding over the function, Dr Kh Palin said that medical tourism is progressing rapidly in the state.

Although the growth slowed down a bit due to the conflict, efforts are being made to pick up the pace.

He continued that everyone loves their motherland, and arming themselves is not the only way to be patriotic.

Shija has been trying to provide the best care to patients at affordable rates to prevent them from incurring huge medical expenses to get treated outside Manipur, he stated, while informing that many out-of-state patients continue to visit the hospital for treatment.

The celebration was also attended by RIMS MS Prof N Sanjib as guest of honour.

Later, the dignitaries released a souvenir as part of the celebration.
