Thungcheng VA appeals for repair retaining wall

Village Authority of Thungcheng, Western Valley, Chandel District has conveyed that incessant rainfalls in their area has caused flood and damage to the side wings of the retaining of the bridge in the village apart from inundated several paddy fields.
According to the village Authority of Thungcheng, the bridge was constructed across a stream on the way between Sugnu and Thungcheng under PMGSY Phase 7.But it got damaged partially after the two side wings have been carried away in the strong water current overflowing the river on account of incessant rainfall.
About 15 metre long portion of the retaining wall has been washed away and it has resulted in several paddy field submerged in the overflowing blood water.
The Village Authority has drawn the attention of the district administration of Chandel for taking up necessary repairing works as well as for providing relief to the affected farmers.
