CRPF installs solar lights at Thanga Karang

Moirang, December 29 2025: As part of its ongoing civic action initiatives aimed at community upliftment, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on Monday organised a civic action programme at Khuman Pokpa Community Hall, Thanga Karong, Bishnupur district.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the IGP, Manipur & Nagaland Sector, CRPF, during which solar lighting facilities were provided to the locality.

A total of 13 solar lights along with poles were distributed to the people, which will be installed at different locations of Island, such as Meira Paibi Shang; the local club, Ibudhou Khuman Pokpa, the Community Hall, and the vulnerable road junction, for the benefit of the people.

The event was graced by DIGP (Ops), Churachandpur Range, Ghanshyam Behwal, as the chief guest.

The event was also attended by Arun Kumar, Commandant of 157 Bn; SP Bishnupur Th Shanker Deba; Samundara Singh Maharaniya, Asst Commandant; Naresh Kumar, Asst Commandant; Captain of Mahar Regiment, Arun; Officer-in-Charge of Keibul Lamjao PS Puyam Okendro, the village chief of Thanga Karang Island, along with other representatives of civil administration, and a large number of local residents.

The initiative underscores CRPF's commitment to its motto "Service and Loyalty" by fostering trust, peace, and harmony through people-centric development efforts, alongside its core responsibility of maintaining internal security in Manipur.
