MSA urges WAFQ Committee members to resign

Imphal, June 28 2025: Denouncing the constitution of a Revision Committee of Manipur WAQF Rules under the WAQF Amendment Act, the Minorities Students Association (MSA) has appealed to all the five members of the WAQF Committee to resign from the committee at the earliest.

Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, MSA president BH Ijuj Ahmed strongly condemned the constitution of a Revision Committee by the State Government despite the ongoing case at the Supreme Court regarding the implementation Of WAQF Amendment Act.

He appealed to all the members to consider the implications of the new ACT and resign from the committee for the greater good of the people.

BH Ijuj Ahmed also asserted that if the committee is to be constituted, all stakeholders and intellectuals of the minority Muslim community should be consulted first.
