First aid training programme held

BABINA Hospital marked World Emergency Medicine Day 2026 on Wednesday by organising a First Aid Training Programme at RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya, Pangei, in collaboration with the school.
The event was held under the global theme "Safe Space for Emergency Medicine Teams: Stop Violence Everywhere".
Students and teachers participated in the session aimed at spreading awareness on emergency care and equipping them with basic life-saving skills.
The training was led by Dr Kangjam Lakshmi, Consultant, Emergency Medicine, and Moirangthem Sanathoi, Nursing Educator, both from BABINA Hospital.
The trainers demonstrated key first aid techniques, including how to assess victims, control bleeding, manage fractures, and perform CPR.
They explained how timely intervention before professional help arrives can significantly improve survival rates during accidents at home, school, or workplaces.
The programme also highlighted the crucial role of emergency medicine teams and stressed the need to ensure safe, violence-free working environments for healthcare professionals in emergency care services.
Principal Mayengbam Sarda was also present at the event.
