Kavya Manch holds 25th Kavi Sammelan

Imphal, May 24 2026: The Mahila Kavya Manch, Manipur organised its 25th Kavi Sammelan today at Dosuyali Hall, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai.

Principal of Modem College, Porompat, attended as chief guest while Manch president Dr Kshetrimayum Subadani Devi presided.

Retired Principal of Tomchou Higher Secondary School, Mayang Imphal, Kongbrailatpam Gangarani Devi, moderated the session where around 30 women poets recited their works.

Speaking at the event, Dr Subadani Devi said the organisation was launched on April 21, 2024 at Dosuyali Hall to provide Manipuri women writers a platform to express themselves.

She noted that there is no membership fee, and the forum has become an outlet for both working and nonworking women to relieve stress and share personal experiences through poetry.

The poetry session is held monthly, and several poems presented so far have already been published.

The Manch is now working on an anthology of members' poems to be released in English, Meitei Mayek, and Bengali scripts.
