CM Khemchand meets Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, February 23 2026: Manipur Chief Minister, Shri Yumnam Khemchand Singh today called on Union Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh at his office here in New Delhi.

He was accompanied by deputy chief minister Shri Losii Dikho of the Naga People's Front (NPF) during the meeting.

This is the first time Shri Khemchand met the Union Defence Minister after taking oath as the state's new BJP chief minister on February 4 last.

Shri Rajnath Singh has assured all assistance from the defence ministry in any endeavour of the state government.

The chief minister also urged Shri Rajnath Singh to raise one Territorial Army (TA) battalion for Manipur.
