Students feted, career orientation programme held

Sirti Thiimjiitam Sourkhe (Monsang Naga Students' Union) organised a meritorious awards presentation cum career orientation programme at Liwa Khullen community hall in Chandel district on Saturday.
The programme was attended by SDC Chandel headquarters branch officer Sanuw Promilata Monsang Wanglar as special guest and Rev Dr Ng Molarhring as blessing minister while Chandel District Hospital MO Dr M Zingpi Tarao and MDU assistant professor Dr K Onand Monsang were the resource persons.
In her speech, Promilata Wanglar shared her experience and encouraged the students to be prepared for facing new challenges as they embark on competitive stages of life in pursuing their dreams.
She reminded that failure in life is a lesson to improve and do better and commended STS for organising such event.
Dr M Zingpi Tarao spoke on medical and engineering courses and various professional courses for students while Dr K Onand delivered a lecture on National Education Policy (NEP) and various competitive exams and academic career options students can pursue after class X, XII and graduation.
During the programme, certificates along with cash awards were presented to Venessa Khartu Monsang, daughter of Gasper Khartu of Liwa Changning village; Ts Racheal Monsang, daughter of Ts Angchung of Liwa Khullen village; Thumli Kothangam Monsang, son of Thumli Love of Japhou bazar; and W Julyson Monsang, son of W Beningpha of Liwa Sarei village who scored high marks in this year's class X and XII examinations.
Dr Ng Polbina Monsang, daughter of late Ng Amu of Japhou village, was also presented certificate of appreciation on her completion of Doctor of Philosophy in forestry.
The programme concluded with an interactive question session where many doubts related to academic career and job prospects were cleared by the resource persons.
