Bishnupur, September 20 2026: Residents across Manipur gathered in solemn remembrance to mark the first anniversary of the Nambol ambush of September 19, 2025, paying heartfelt tribute to the supreme sacrifice of Assam Rifles personnel.

The commemorative events, held at multiplelocations across the state, drew the participation of nearly 1,800 people, including communityrepresentatives, youth and local residents, who came together to honour Naib Subedar ShyamGurung and Rifleman Ranjeet Singh Kashyap of 33 Assam Rifles, said a press release by the Assam Rifles.

During the anniversary commemorations, floral tributes were offered and a two-minute silence was observed, reflecting the collective grief and respect of the people, added the press release.
