Assam Regiment young officers visit Assam Rifles HQ for operational orientation

Newly commissioned Young Officers of the Assam Regiment visited the Assam Rifles Headquarters in Churachandpur district on Sunday as partoftheirorientation and familiarisation programme.
As per a statement issued by IGAR (South), the visit was organised to provide the young officers with firsthand exposure to the operational environment, traditions and ethos of the Assam Rifles, the country's oldest paramilitary force.
The orientation commenced with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial, where the Young Officers paid tribute to the brave martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
The officers later interacted with senior Assam Rifles personnel and Ex-Servicemen, gaining valuable insights into the force's operational legacy, leadership values and core principles of the force.
Highlighting the deep-seated respect for the veteran fraternity, the Young Officers were felicitated by Ex-Servicemen, who shared their experiences and encouraged the next generation of military leaders to uphold the ideals of courage, discipline and selfless service.
As part of the visit, the officers also called on the residences of Ex-Servicemen and interacted with the veterans and their families, acknowledging their enduring contributions to the nation.
The interactions bridged the gap between generations of military leadership while fostering a spirit of camaraderie and professional excellence among the young officers, the statement added.
