Debating competition marks 4th day of Imphal Book Fair 2025

Imphal, December 18 2025: On the 4th day of the 32nd Imphal BookFair 2025, a debating competition was conducted today at the State Central Library Complex.

The 32nd edition of the Imphal Book Fair 2025 is being jointly organised by the Manipur Library Association (MALA), several NGO-run public libraries and the State Central Library under the Department of Art & Culture.

Sapam Dorendro Singh, Programme Executive, AIR, Dibrugarh served as the speaker of the debating competition which was conducted on the topic, "Internet Na Library Gi Mahut Sinba Yaroi".

H Rajendra Singh, retired Senior Librarian & Information Officer, NIELIT, Akampat; L Pramodkumar, Librarian, DL Thoubal; and Dr A Dorendro, Information Scientist were the jury members of the competition.

The competition was participated by 13 students who assertively put forth their perspectives and opinions as they debated for and against the topic.

Winners of the competition in the order of merit are- Oinam Nishi Singh, EK Higher Secondary School; Devirani Keithellakpam, UNACCO School; and Laishram Sanajaoba Singh, Manipur University.
