Awareness programme on "Child Protection" held at Khunyai village

Tengnoupal, July 17 2025: A one-day awareness programme on "Child Protection and Related Laws" was held today at Khunyai Village Community Hall under Machi Block, Tengnoupal district, organised by the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Tengnoupal in collaboration with NUSMUCOS Ltd, Pallel cluster.

The programme was attended by Md Nuzmul Huda Khan, SDO Machi as chief guest; Devavrata Sharma as president of the function; and Arif Sajad, SDC Tengnoupal as guest of honour.

During the programme, technical session were conducted by Damgam Khaling, member secretary CWC Tengnoupal, Khulak Tonthang Dangshawa, 2nd OC Tengnoupal PS and Tontang Moishel, member CWC Tengnoupal, who spoke on various aspects of child protection laws and community involvement.

Although Devavrata Sharma, the DCPO Tengnoupal could not attend in person, his message was read out, stressing that child protection is a shared responsibility, not limited to one department.

He called for collective action from all stakeholders to ensure children's safety and well-being.

The event saw active participation from community members, youth, and village leaders, and concluded with an interactive session on strengthening child protection mechanisms in the district.
