Thoubal, May 17 2026: With an aim to maintain cleanliness and prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases, the Apunbagi Thouna Village Level Federation (VLF), Heirok Part-III in collaboration with Kaboleikai Development Association (KDA) and Heirok Development Club (HDC), organised a cleanliness drive at the surrounding areas of KDA Club under Heirok Gram Panchayat.

Speaking in connection with the initiative, Apunbagi Thouna VLF president Premabati Thokchom said the initiative was launched to create awareness on maintaining cleanliness and preventing diseases caused by mosquitoes and unhygienic surroundings.

She informed that fumigation and spraying activities would also be carried out in the cleaned areas from tomorrow to further prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases.

She urged the public to develop the habit of maintaining cleanliness regularly in order to keep the environment healthy, beautify the surroundings and safeguard public health.
