LNC Western Zone urges authorities to clear pending wages of labourers

Imphal, March 16 2026: Liangmai Naga Council (LNC), Western Zone, has urged the concerned authorities ofthe implementing agency of the NDB Water Supply Project in Tamei area to clear the pending wages of local labourers engaged in the project.

LNC (Western Zone) said that the water supply project, which covers around 30 villages in the Tamei area, has already "progressed" by nearly 90 percent It also said the work is being monitored by respective village authority boards under the supervision of the LNC (Western Zone) .

According to the council, village leaders had engaged local labourers on a daily wage basis to carry out various works such as pipe connections at the request of the implementing agency.

However, the labourers have yet to receive their wages.

Expressing concern over the matter, the LNC (Western Zone) appealed to the concerned authority to clear the pending dues at the earliest so that the remaining work of the project can be carried out smoothly without any disruption.
