Imphal, July 14 2025:
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Monday chaired a high-level review meeting at the Raj Bhavan conference hall to take stock of the ongoing relief and rehabilitation measures for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) across the state.
The meeting, attended by chief secretary, DC Imphal West, and senior officials, focused on the state's efforts to improve service delivery and ensure the effective implementation of welfare schemes for thousands of displaced individuals currently sheltered in relief camps.
A detailed presentation was made on the state's dedicated IDPs portal, a digital platform introduced to streamline the management of relief services.
Officials explained that the portal allows real-time data tracking and resource allocation, enabling the administration to monitor needs, coordinate departments, and maintain transparency in ongoing relief operations.
The Governor stressed the importance of seamless inter-departmental coordination to ensure that government benefits reach every displaced person without delay.
He underlined that addressing the needs of IDPs remains a top priority for the administration and urged all departments to work in close cooperation.
The state must respond with efficient governance and compassion.
All welfare schemes should be delivered without obstacles, and the system must adapt to ensure no one is left out, he said.
The Governor also called for further enhancement of coordination tools like the IDPs portal to reinforce timely responses and equitable service distribution.
The meeting concluded with a directive to intensify efforts to bolster the institutional structure handling IDP relief and ensure that rehabilitation remains at the forefront of administrative priorities.
