Assam Rifles flags off National Integration Tour

Assam Rifles flagged off the National Integration Tour (NIT) from Mantripukhri Garrison, Imphal, under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavana.
The tour will proceed to Kolkata and culminate at Ukhrul, continuing the series of NITs conducted across the Manipur over the past year.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the contingent comprises 30 members including 22 students, 3 teachers, 1 local guardian, 1 officer in charge, and 3 administrative staff.
The students, aged between 14 and 18 years, studying in classes IX to XII, are from Model High School, Little Angels' English School, Ukhrul Higher Secondary School, and Alpha Christian High School of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts.
The ceremony was presided over by Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), along with officials and troops of the formation.
In his remarks, the Chief Guest emphasised the significance of such initiatives in connecting the youth of the Northeast with the national mainstream.
He noted that the exposure gained during the journey would help broaden their outlook and instill confidence in their future endeavours.
Over the next eleven days, the participants will travel to Kolkata via Dimapur, visiting historical landmarks, national monuments, museums, cultural centres and educational institutions.
They will also interact with dignitaries including the Governor of West Bengal and the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command.
These engagements are expected to provide valuable insights into leadership, governance and the country's cultural diversity.
The National Integration Tour will involve travel by road, rail and air, offering the students a comprehensive experience of the country's infrastructure and connectivity.
