CPI, Loumi Lup mourn veteran leader Ksh Ibotombi

Imphal, September 12 2026: Veteran communist leader and former vice president of Manipur Loumi Lup, Kshetrimayum Ibotombi, passed away at his residence at Chana.

Lamlai on September 9 after abriefillness.

He was 80 .

Inspired by Jana Neta Hijam Irabot, Ibotombi joined the movement for Manipur's Statehood as a youth and later led farmers' struggles in Lamlai as president of Lamlai Loumi Lup.

Despite coming from a poor family, he studied medicine to serve his doctor-less locality.

After his demise, leaders of Lamlai Local CPI and Loumi Lup offered floral tributes and Red Salute.

The Red Guards of the party gave a final salute.

Lamlai Local CPI held a condolence meeting on September 10 at Irabot Memorial Hall presided by Sh Purnimashi, while Manipur Loumi Lup held another on September 11, observing two minutes silence in his honour.
