Governor directs officials to accelerate DoNER projects

Imphal, July 11 2025: Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla has on Friday directed officials to accelerate the implementation of various developmental projects under the DoNER ministry during a review meeting on on-going projects with Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya M Scindia.

At the meeting, the Governor took stock of various development projects be ing carried out under the ministry, according to a Raj Bahvan statement.

Meanwhile, PIB informed that Scindia, who virtually attended the meeting, offered feedback on each project and encouraged state officials to expedite completions.

During the meeting, chief secretary Prashant Kumar (PK) Singh made a presentation on DoNER projects and a comprehensive review of ongoing initiatives and challenges associated with those.

They also discussed issues related to handloom, handicrafts, and textiles; promotion of Polo; tourism development; improvements in transport and connectivity; oil palm cultivation under the NMEO-OP; logistics enhancement; investment promotion in Manipur; development of vibrant villages; monitoring PMO-priority projects; and completing distressed projects under DoNER and the NEC.

During the meeting, participants revisited several priority areas discussed previously on April 17, 2025.After the presentation, Union Minister Scindia provided feedback on each point and urged state officials to speed up project completions.

The meeting was also attended by officials from the North Eastern Council via video conference.
