Imphal, February 06 2026: The Manipur Federal Organization (MFO) is pushing for a Minister from the Meitei Pangal community in the new Government, citing their significant role in Manipur's history and events.

Addressing a press conference today at Manipur Press Club, MFO president Boboi Korimayum emphasized that excluding the Meitei Pangal community would be inappropriate and criticized the Indian Government's narrowminded view towards them.

He welcomed the recent formation of a popular Government after a long period, calling it a positive step.

He urged the appointment of one of the three Meitei Pangal MLAs as a Minister, warning that failure to do so could lead to a strong public movement.

Boboi Korimayum further stressed that building the ''idea of Manipur" requires equal treatment of all communities without discrimination.
