Imphal, February 04 2026:
A recent incident involving unknown individuals performing an unauthorized ritual at a local sacred site (Kaiba Bambu) has caused a stir in the Leishangkhong Kabui Khul village, Imphal West district.
The incident occurred on February 3, 2026, prompting the Leishangkhong Pei (Thoubei) to issue a formal notice reminding residents of traditional customs.
According to the official notice, the unknown persons used dhup (incense) and thaomei (lights) during their worship, which is strictly prohibited by the village customs.
The notice stated that such actions are seen as an attempt to cause trouble or bring misfortune to the village.
The Thoubei pointed out that the sacred site has specific rules, including no fire or lights allowed.
The Thoubei further cautioned all residents and visitors against performing any prohibited activities in the area.
