Everything smooth in police recruitment so far

With the conduct of Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for recruitment of Police Constables under the State Home Department being video recorded this time, the recruitment process seems to be going as fairly as possible at the moment.
The DPC for recruitment of Police Constables is being carried out at the Parade Ground of 1st Manipur Rifles since yesterday for Chandel district.
Altogether 1965 candidates have submitted their forms, out of which the PET for 1500 candidates has been completed.
The results of the PET are declared everyday and as such there seems to be no room for any kind of mischief.
Out of 601 candidates whose PET was conducted yesterday, only 271 were selected and 162 were absent.
51 of them were rejected during screening of documents while 68 of them were later rejected on medical ground.
Another 53 of them were also rejected on the ground of being physically unfit.
In the PET conducted today, three proxy candidates, who were appeared on behalf of their brothers, were made to stand in the scorching sun and were released only in the evening.
All the candidates coming for the PET were allowed to enter the 1st MR campus from the Jail road side.
Fencing with tin sheets has been put up around the area where PET is conducted so that none could what was going on inside.
Though the exact number of videographers assigned to record the process of recruitment is not known, atleast six videographers were seen recording the whole process.
The Police personnel who are engaged in the DPC are not specified until the last moment when they are selected through a lottery system.
Altogether 36877 candidates have submitted their forms to take part in the recruitment of 2000 Police Constables.
Among the candidates applying for the post, the largest number of applicants has been recorded from Thoubal district with 8914 applicants.
The number of applicants from Imphal East and West are 6559 and 6956 respectively.
The number applicants from Chandel is 1965; 3388 from Churachandpur, 974 from Ukhrul, 2987 from Bishnupur, 3050 from Senapati, 1585 from Tamenglong and 499 from Jiribam Sub-Division.
Meanwhile, there has been a slight change in the date for DPC fixed earlier.
According to a notification issued by the DGP, the DPC for Chandel and Tamenglong would be done from February 12 to 14; from February 15 to 18 for Bishnupur district; from February 19 to 28 for Thoubal district; from March 1 to 8 for Imphal East; for Jiribam sub-division on March 9; from March 10 to 19 for Imphal West district; from March 20 to 24 for Churachandpur district; from March 25 to 26 for Ukhrul district and from April 1 to 4 for Senapati district.
