Ukhrul, October 28 2025:
The Government of India must understand the sentiment and appreciate the inherent rights of the Nagas for a logical conclusion of the ongoing Indo-Naga political dialogue, NSCN (IM) Ato Kilonser Thuingaleng Muivah has said.
Muivah, who is in Ukhrul district, said "insincerity" on the part of the Indian leaders is delaying the Indo-Naga peace process.
He made these statements during a programme at Somdal yesterday.
The programme-lighting of the pine torch and bonfire--was organised in honour of "Avakharar Muivah" symbolising triumph over darkness.
Bonfires were lit across Tangkhul villages signifying "unwavering support" to Ato Kilonser Th Muivah.

Speaking at the Gethsemane Prayer Centre in Somdal village, Muivah emphasised that the Nagas will not surrender their history or compromise on their demand for sovereignty.
"Our history is clearly written, and the Indians knew but they started giving ultimatums.
We were forced to tell them, come what may, we will stand our ground," Muivah said.
"Our stand is clear.
Nagas are Nagas, and Indians are Indians," he added.
Muivah continued that the Nagas understand the "problems" of India.
"However, Naga people's commitment to the demand for sovereignty, Naga Flag and Constitution will remain unchanged," he said.
The Government of India and Nagas have to mutually understand, and respect the rights of the two entities for peaceful resolution, he said.
Muivah's visit to Somdal village after over 50 years is being seen as a historic and significant journey in streng- thening the Naga movement.
