Case of 6 missing Naga men: 4 suspects held

Imphal, May 26 2026:
Even as the whereabouts of the six Naga men abducted by Kuki groups remain unknown, police have stated that four persons suspected to be involved in the abduction have been arrested.
Police, in a bulletin issued late last night, said that the suspects were arrested by a team of State and Central forces from an area between P Molding and Leilon Vaiphei Inter Village Road yesterday.
The arrestees have been identified as Thangkhomang Khongsai (51) of Patbung Village, Kangchup; Seikholet Khongsai (40) of Mongbung Tongneh, New Keithelmanbi; Lunminthang Dimngel (27) and Kamgoulal Khongsai (30) .

Police continued that the suspects are believed to be active cadres of an armed village volunteer group in Kangpokpi and are suspected to have been involved in anti-social activities, including extortion, criminal intimidation, and possession of arms and ammunition.
The role of the apprehended individuals in the abduction of the six Naga men is suspected and will be ascertained during the course of the investigation, it added.
