Governor leads in extending R-Day greetings

Imphal, January 25 2026:
Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata have conveyed their greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day of India.
The Governor, in his message, said that the Republic Day marks the historic moment when 'our Constitution' came into force on January 26, 1950, establishing India as a sovereign, secular and democratic republic.
"It is a day to reaffirm our unwavering faith in the values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity that form the foundation of our Nation", he said.
Saying that Manipur, with its rich cultural heritage, unity in diversity and indomitable spirit has always played a significant role in strengthening the Nation, he added that the courage, resilience and talent of 'our people' especially in the fields of sports, arts, culture and public service continue to inspire the country.
"As we celebrate Republic Day, let us collectively resolve to uphold the ideals of our Constitution, strengthen peace and harmony and work with dedication towards inclusive development and social justice", he appealed.
Satyabrata, in his greetings, said that peace without justice is not peace and unity without dignity is not unity.
He also said that development without voice is not progress.
"If we are to honour the Constitution, we must defend its soul, not just in Delhi, but in every leikai, every village, every hilltop and every Assembly seat," he said.
Appealing to all the elected representatives, civil servants and citizens to uphold the sanctity of 'our democratic institutions', the Speaker said that the future of Manipur lies not only on infrastructure and development but in the strength of 'our unity and the wisdom of our shared purpose' .
Mayang Imphal AC MLA K Robindro also greeted the people.
