Nambol River overflowing, Nambul close to breaching HFL

Imphal, July 24 2026: Even as the Nambol River was overflowing, the water at Nambul River was flowing dangerously close to high flood level at 6 pm today, said a report released by the Water Resources Department today.

The report said the Nambol had been overflowing at the Nambol bridge gauge site since 2 pm.

While the water level was decreasing, the Nambul River on the other hand at 6 pm at the Hump bridge gauge site was flowing above the flood level (783.675 m) at 782.450 metres and dangerously close to breaching the high flood level (783.675 m) .

The water level of the Imphal River at Minuthong gauge site was increasing, but it was flowing at 785.050 metres - below the warning level (785.900 m).

At the Lilong bridge gauge site, Imphal River was flowing at 778.750 metres well below the warning level (780.350 m) at 6 pm.

Thoubal River at 6pm was flowing at 777.100 metres-below the warning level (778.915 m).

Manipur River at 6 pm was flowing at 769 metres-- below the warning level of 769.280 metres.

Rain gauge station at Raj Bhavan (now Lok Bhavan) received 32 mm of rain at 6 am today.

Lamphel received 35 mm of rain at 6 am.

Kangpokpi (Imphal River) received 27 mm of rain at 6 am.

Litan (Thoubal River) received 10 mm of rain.

Several places, roads in Imphal including Kakwa and Tiddim Road were inundated with water today.

The water levels in increasing order are Warning Level, Flood Level, and High Flood Level.
