Imphal, May 21 2026:
IOCL's Malom depot has started releasing fuel in excess of its market share.
Sources said that the daily market share of IOCL in Manipur is 300 Kls of petrol and 350 Kls of diesel.
The combined (petrol and diesel) market share of IOCL is 75 per cent while the remaining 25 per cent is shared by BPCL, HPCL and Nayara Energy.
Since the last couple of days, Malom depot supplied fuel in excess of its market share.
The depot supplied 400 Kls of petrol and 350 Kls of diesel today.
There are 156 oil pumps in Manipur and when the 400 Kls of petrol and 350 Kls of diesel are distributed to them, each of them gets around 2564 litres of petrol and 2,248 litres of diesel.
One main factor for the long queues seen at oil pumps and early closure of oil pumps is the closure of oil pumps belonging to BPCL, HPCL and Nayara Energy, said the sources.
Meanwhile, around 24 loaded tanker trucks of BPCL and HPCL are currently stranded in between Mao and Lairouching.
As Imphal-Dimapur highway is currently blocked, 20 other loaded tankers have taken the Silchar-Jiribam route through Numaligarh.
They will reach Imphal through Imphal-Jiribam highway, said the sources.
