Imphal, September 20 2026: Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, said that Ganesh Puja plays an important role in promoting cultural exchange and fostering a sense of unity and harmony among people.

He made the statement while attending the Shree Shree Ganesh Puja celebration held at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen at Palace Compound today.

As part of the event, Ras Leela, Maibi Jagoi, Khamba Thoibi Jagoi and other cultural performances were showcased.

Addressing the function as chief guest, Prataprao underscored the rich cultural heritage of Manipur.

He also highlighted Manipur's significant contribution to the fields of art and culture.

Highlighting Manipur's rich biodiversity, he said that a scientific approach to medicinal plants found in the State would not only promote traditional healing practices but also benefit farmers, youths and entrepreneurs.

The AYUSH Minister said that the Government would consider constructing a Ganesh temple in the State.

Stating that India is a diverse Nation, he appealed to every citizen to contribute towards safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country.

Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam, who graced the event as president, prayed for peace and development in Manipur.

Govindas is the chairman of Shree Shree Ganesh Puja Celebration Committee.

Expressing optimism that the celebration of Ganesh Puja would foster unity and love among the people, he appealed to everyone to attend the celebration irrespective of their religion.

The event was also attended by Shree Shree Ganesh Puja Celebration Committee convenor Kh Joykisan (Thangmeiband AC MLA), member Nishikant Singh Sapam (Keishamthong AC MLA), Shiv Sena Manipur president M Tombi and BJP Manipur general secretaries K Saratkumar, P Prema-nanda Meitei and L Deben as guests of honour.
