Imphal, November 18 2024:
The All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has asked the Government of India not to create more issues by reimposing AFSPA 1958 in the jurisdictions of six police stations.
Speaking to media persons at their Kwakeithel Akham Leikai office today, AMUCO vice-president Sanjoy Sorokhaibam said that Kuki narco-terrorists have been waging a war of genocide against the Meitei people since May 3, 2023 .
Recently, three minors and three women were murdered in cold blood in the most barbaric manner after they were abducted from Jiribam on November 11 .
"The Government of India instead of driving out the Kuki narco-terrorists have reimposed AFSPA in the jurisdiction of six police stations.
AMUCO condemns it in the strongest terms", Sanjoy said.
He said that AMUCO, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur, All Manipur Women's Voluntary Association and the Manipuri Students Federation are prepared to launch strong movements against such policies and activities of the Government of India.
He appealed to the people to raise strong voices in unison for repeal of AFSPA from all over Manipur, awarding exemplary punishment to culprits of all heinous murders, protection of Manipur's integrity and against reimposition of AFSPA.
AMUCO general secretary Pratap Leishangthem appealed to the people for support and participation in the protest movement initiated by the four organisations against AFSPA and acts of terrorism committed by Kuki narcoterrorists.
Leaders of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba manipur, AMAWOVA and MSF were also present at the press meet.
