Ukhrul ready to roll out red carpet for Muivah

Ukhrul, October 13 2025:
Kashung Tennyson, president of the Tangkhul Naga Awunga Long (TNAL), a headmen association, has stated that now is the perfect time to express gratitude to Ato Kilonser Th Muivah for his leadership in advancing the Naga National movement and elevating Naga issues internationally during his homecoming programme.
Muivah is scheduled to visit his hometown Somdal in Ukhrul district on October 22, 2025 .
Speaking to the media, Tennyson stated that they have planned a dignified welcome for Th Muivah.
According to him, all 252 Tangkhul village headmen, accompanied by their wives, will don traditional attire to lead the reception, demonstrating the community's support to Muivah.

Saying that they will honour Muivah with a Tangkhul traditional costume to signify that the mandate of Tangkhul community is with him, he added that Nagas were never governed by any foreign Nation and have lived independently since time immemorial Chairmen of four Tangkhul regions (East, West, North, and South) also expressed their joy at Th Muivah's return after 50 years.
His visit, first to Ukhrul and then to his birthplace, Somdal village, is seen as a moment of great celebration.

This historic visit of Muivah to his native village will be recorded as a significant achievement in Naga history, he said, noting that it inspires new hope and aspirations for the Naga future.
Preparations are on in full swing across Tangkhul villages, with widespread anticipation to personally meet Muivah in Ukhrul or Somdal.
President of Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) Sword Vashum stated that preparations are underway for a grand thanks giving programme in Ukhrul on October 22 .
