Rumours of raid and bid to arrest AT chief dismissed

Imphal, June 11 2025: Locals of Koirengei have dismissed the news of raid and attempt to arrest Arambai Tenggol chief Korounganba Khuman by security forces that has been doing the rounds since morning on social media.

Acting on the social media posts that the house of Korounganba Khuman has been surrounded by security vehicles including a casspir vehicle, a team of media visited the locality to find the truth.

No security personnel were found present at the said area except for the regular movement of security forces.

The team also noticed some womenfolk sitting under a tent near the house of the Arambai Tenggol chief.

On being enquired whether the security personnel visited the house of Korounganba and tried to arrest him, neighbours and locals maintained that no such incident had happened.

The movement of various armed forces based at Koirengei along the Koirengei highway stretch is a regular thing.

Some vehicles carrying security personnel might have stopped by for a while to pick things up, they added while dismissing the claims on social media.
