NPF slams Dy CM

Imphal, June 10 2013: The Naga Peoples' Front (NPF), Manipur State unit today condemned the remarks of Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam that it was a ploy of the party (NPF) to disintegrate the State by joining the State Opposition bloc.

The statement by Gaikhangam, who also holds the Home portfolio, clearly indicated that it was an attempt to mislead the democratic norms of the country in a crude manner so portfolios entrusted with him must be removed at once in the larger interest of the people, Soso Lorho, president, Manipur state unit of NPF told newsmen at the party office here at Paomei Colony.

He said the party condemns both Gaikhangam and the seniormost Congress leader of the country Rishang Keishing who often make such statements that 'NPF must be wiped out from the state' .

Saying that NPF is simply a political party, Lorho pledged that the state unit of the party would continue its works in the state of Manipur in consistent with the people's mandate.

"The Congress is boasting off for getting the 42 seats and at the same time menacing other parties in the state besides trying to give the wrong impression about being the party that works sincerely," he slammed.

Lorho also said that holding political conference by the Congress to get opportunities in deceitful manner will not last long.

He warned that the Governor as well as the concerned authorities would be urged to take appropriate action against Gaikhangam if he fails to make 'prompt clarification' on his alleged bad remarks.

To a query, the Manipur NPF president said that other political parties in the state have trust in the party so it also has trust in them though it did not forge alliance with the opposition in the past years.
