Imphal, August 14 2011:
Petrol and diesel stocks are fast depleting at the IOC depot located at Chingmeirong.
At present, only 719 Kl of petrol and 2830 Kl of diesel remain at the depot.
A source in IOC Divisional Sales Office informed that since the standing TTs have exhausted, the IOC has started issuing fuel from the depot.
On August 12, 72 Kl of petrol and 144 Kl of diesel were pumped out from the depot and issued to oil pumps.
After August 10, the depot closed operation.
According to IOC's calculation, 70 Kl of petrol and 200 Kl of diesel are required in the State every day.
The depot would not be operating tomorrow.
The depot would start operation only in the morning of August 16 and petrol pumps would be given 4 Kl of fuel in part compartment system.
Fuel would be available to the public at oil pumps in the afternoon (of August 16) .

With LPG stock already depleted to a very low level, the Sekmai bottling plant has also stopped operation.
At present, the bottling plant has only 161 metric tonnes of LPG.
Compared to daily requirements of the State, this stock would last only three days.
As such, the remaining stock has been set aside for emergency purposes.
On the other hand, 13 petrol tankers, 12 diesel tankers, 13 LPG bullets and SK Oil tankers left Jiribam for Imphal this morning.
The oil tankers and the LPG bullets are expected to arrive here by tomorrow afternoon, added the source.
Fuel scarcity is a perennial problem during strikes on the NHs .
