Imphal, December 30 2025:
The Disabled Development Association Manipur (DDAM) has urged people to attend the Ningtham Keithel Mela set to be hosted at Hapta Kangjeibung from January 1 to 30, 2026 in association with DS Enterprises.
Addressing a press briefing at Hapta Kangjeibung today, Yunus Khan, general secretary, DDAM, said that the two and a half year old conflict has greatly affected PwDs.
Many have been deprived of a livelihood, unable to find jobs.
He pointed out that while many PwDs have brought laurels for the State in the realms of art and culture and games and sports, they have faced various struggles in acquiring funds to participate in the coaching camp for a National championship.
Under such circumstances, they approached Keishamthong based DS Enterprises for help, who suggested organising the winter mela as a way to fund the coaching camp.
Dedicated stalls for PwDs will be opened at the mela and a fund drive will also be initiated.
No fees will be charged for IDPs and PwDs to set up stalls, he added.
