Imphal, December 29 2025: A Festival of Narrative Arts was organised on Monday in connection with the death anniversary of Late Akoijam Tambu Devi, founder vice president of Concord Art Theatre.

The event held at the residence of Akoijam Kumar Singh in Club Keithel, Konjeng Leikai, Imphal, was graced by dignitaries, including Akoijam Ibotombi Singh, president, Concord Art Theatre; Budha Chingtham, Member, Boards of Governors, Eastern Zonal Cultural Center, Kolkata; and social worker Soraisham Gobin.

At the event, speakers emphasized that many traditional art forms such as Wari Leeba, Lairik Theeba Haiba.

Khongjom Parva and Khubak Eshei are facing potential extinction due to a combination of neglect, lack of awareness, passing of senior artists, and the impact of recent conflict.

They also called for collective effort to safeguard, preserve and promote the traditional art forms left behind by ancestors.
